The Department of Energy(DoE), of the Ministry of Mines and Energy(MME), through its Bureau of Electricity and Renewable Energy, Bureau of Hydrocarbons and Bureau of Energy Research and Policy, with its mandates and programmes and activities, was derived from the National Energy Policy of Liberia and as well as the Electricity Law of Liberia.
DoE, with its oversight function and Policy Formulation and implementation mandates, is to formulate and implement policies and masters plans for Liberia.
Vision: to be an effective entity that is capable of delivering universal access to reliable, secure, affordable, environmentally friendly modern energy services for rapid socio-economic development.
Mission: to formulate and implement policies and strategies that would provide sustained, reliable, and affordable modern energy services and products for the people and economy of Liberia.
