MINISTRY OF MINES AND ENERGY/May 15, 2025-MONROVIA: The Deed to a plot of land containing a one storey building situated in a compound in the Old Road Community, Montserrado County, has been officially turned over to the Liberian Government, through the General Services Agency (GSA), and the Ministry of Mines and Energy.

The issuance of a check bearing balance amount to complete government’s purchase of the building by the Ministry of Mines and Energy, and subsequent turnover of documents to the property by the owner took place on Thursday, May 15, 2025. In brief remarks, Deputy Mines and Energy Minister for Administration, Eudora Blay-Pritchard, said, through budgetary support, the office building will be refurbished and transformed into a modern laboratory to facilitate scientific data analyses by technical functionaries of the Ministry (MME).

Deputy Minister Blay-Pritchard lauded the property owner, and the General Services Agency for collaborating with the Mines and Energy Ministry over the years to transition the Government’s usage of the Building from a rental arrangement to full purchase and ownership. The building has been housing the offices of the Liberia Geological Survey (LGS), whose Director, Anthony Kullie, commended the Administration of Minister Wilmot Paye for a milestone achievement of completing payment for the LGS office facilities.

Director Kullie also expressed warm impression about disclosure made by Deputy Minister Blay-Pritchard that the current administration of the Ministry of Mines and Energy will shortly begin the construction of a new office building for the Liberia Geological Survey at the central Monrovia head-office of the Ministry. Thursday’s turnover of the LGS office compound to the Government of Liberia was attended by the property owner, John T. Richardson, Cooper Paasewe, Assistant Minister for Administration of the Ministry of Mines and Energy, Moses S. Gaygay, Director for Real Estate at the GSA, and several staff of the Ministry of Mines and Energy.
