Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME), sector Lead of the Energy Sector, hosts the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning (MFDP) in 'Deep-dive' Session-2.

This time, the MFDP/GOL deep-dive is focusing on the Energy Sector. So, all of the sector actors including the Liberia Electricity Corporation (LEC), Rural and Renewable Energy Agency (RREA), Liberia Electricity Regulatory Commission (LERC), National Oil Company of Liberia (NOCAL), Liberia Petroleum Refining Company (LPRC), and the Liberia Petroleum Regulatory Authority (LPRA).

 

The sessions are looking into funding concerns of the energy sector entities of the Government with the intent to determine methodologies to stimulate and ensure effective and efficient service delivery through proper budgeting and resource mobilization for economic viability. Finance and Development Planning Minister, Augustine K. Ngafuan, is chairing the all-day session.

 

The host Minister, Wilmot Paye, welcomed the Energy Sector teams in brief remarks and called for open-mindedness in sharing ideas on appropriate financing of energy services across the Country to ensure stability and sustainability, while referring to energy availability as a crucial lifeline of every government and private sector institution in order for Liberia to have a vibrant economy envisaged by every citizen.
