Class ‘A’ Mining License Procedure

1 . Requirements for Application

To apply for a Class ‘A’ Mining License, a company must fulfill the following conditions:

Submission of a detailed map and descriptive statement that outlines the proposed production area, including boundaries defined by metes and bounds and the size of the mineral deposits.

8 . Feasibility Report

A comprehensive feasibility report must be provided, detailing:

  1. Efficient and economic mining plans.
  2. Description of minerals to be mined.
  3. Mining and processing methods.
  4. Design, costs, and construction schedules for plants, facilities, and equipment.
  5. Marking arrangements.

9 .  Approval of Feasibility Report

The feasibility report must be approved by the Minister. Approval cannot be withheld if the report meets all legal standards and requirements.

10 .  License Duration

The initial term of the Class ‘A’ Mining License shall not exceed twenty-five (25) years. Extensions may be granted upon proof of proven reserves and the submission of a revised feasibility report, for additional terms not exceeding twenty-five (25) years each.

 11 . Technical and Financial Capability

The Minister must be satisfied that the operator has the necessary technical expertise, experience, and financial resources to conduct mining operations in compliance with the Class ‘A’ license requirements and relevant laws.

1 . Prepare Required Documentation:

Ensure all necessary documents, including the feasibility report and maps, are prepared and validated.

2 . Submit Application:

Send the application letter and accompanying documents to the Minister of Mines and Energy.

3 . Review Process:

The Ministry will review the submitted documents for compliance with legal standards.

4 . Approval and License Issuance:

If all requirements are met, the Minister will grant the Class ‘A’ Mining License, allowing the applicant to commence mining operations.
