HON. WILLIAM S. HINES

DEPUTY MINISTER FOR OPERATIONS

Hon. Hines, is a professional engineer with several decades of working experience spammed across the mineral sector at both the national and international levels.  He holds a Master of science Degree in Petroleum Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Turin, Italy, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mining Engineering from the University of Liberia.

 

The Deputy Minister for Operations has as well, worked across several aspects of the private and public spheres of the mineral sector serving at various levels. Prior to his appointment as Deputy Minister for Operations, he served in various capacities at the Ministry of Mines and Energy. A few of the roles he served in include his service as the Assistant Minister for Mines, the Assistant Director of Mines of the Bureau of Mines, a Technical Assistant to the Deputy Minister for Operations, and Chief Mining Engineer of the Republic of Liberia, Hon. Hines has also worked as a Petroleum Engineer at the National Oil Company of Liberia. While in the private sector of the mineral industry, Deputy

 

Minister Hines has taken part in extensive exploration exercises across a large portion of Liberia during his service as an exploration geoscientist for AmLib, Inc., and Diamond Fields International, among others.

 

He believes that the mineral resources of Liberia have the capacity to lift the country out of poverty if it is given the right support and efficiently utilized as the stepping stone.
